very innovative - I shall try the cendol agar-agar version. What sort of instant jelly do you use? thanks
ReplyDeletethose are instant jelly powder that can be easily obtained from bakery ingredients shop. as for my understanding, it helps to set the mooncake faster and not so hard.

PS - thanks for visiting, and thank you for the award!!
hi butteryum, mooncake is a type of chinese pastry traditionally eaten during the mooncake festival which falls on this sept 22. Most chinese around the world will be celebrating this festival as this can be considered quite a major festival for the chinese. We consider this as a must have delicacy on the mooncake festival also known as the lantern festival. The traditional type of mooncakes are the ones baked in oven, brown in colour , with a thin skin with lotus paste filling. But now over the years, people have been very creative, we have different flvours for the skin as well the filling such as mango filling, durian filling, etc. The jelly mooncakes are just one of the many different varieties now available in the market, actually the texture is just like jelly..probably slightly harder than jelly and we just make them using the jelly mooncakes mould. These moulds that i'm using are very cheap, costs less than USD1.00 per mould and each mould can make 4 pieces of mooncakes.
